I tried looking for the setting you suggested but i dont have an ati card so its not on the list.

Ah, yes, the ol' ATI vcard requirement ... that slipped by me completely. How 'bout checking your event log, anything (errors) in there?
If there is, that may give you a clue...

My feeling is that it is video card related and if I were in your situation, I'd try rolling back my vcard drivers to earlier versions until I found one that worked, hopefully.

Which vcard are you using?

GFORCE 8400 GS

I have tried all sorts of different versions of drivers i had on backup disks and the nvidia sites. I was looking around at newer vcards and im not real sure what to get.

You said something about an event log? For T2 or windows?

I feel ya BDM, I know there is something so small that I am missing that will make the world of difference. I have an ATI built in, and now I have added Nvidia but I think the two are fighting or something and to best of my knowledge ATI is turned off and Nvidia should be master, but my system is suxxor for Tribes right now.

I'm running two GeForce 8600's in SLI configuration with the Nvidia 6.14.11.9621 driver, still have to lower vcard settings in T:A to play. Here are the recommended and minimum specs for T:A:
Quote:Recommended System Requirements:
Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista (SP1 preferred)
2.4+ GHZ Dual Core Processor
3 GBytes of System RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT+ or ATI x1950PRO+ Video Card
15 GB of Free Hard Drive Space
High bandwidth internet connection (DSL, Cable)

Minimum System Requirements:
Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista SP1
2.4+ GHZ Single Core Processor
2 GByte of System RAM
NVIDIA 7800GT+ or ATI Radeon 9800 SE 256-bit Video Card
15 GB of Free Hard Drive Space
High bandwidth internet connection (DSL, Cable)

Yah, you can find the event log in Windows XP Pro at Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Event Viewer/System.
Errors (if any) will be identified in red.

Dayam...this is a puzzler for sure. I'm wondering if there might be a resource conflict.

I dont know what it is. I even tried a clean version of windows just with all the standard drivers for everything with no antivirus running and still does it.

Aaaaak...I just learned from the Microsoft Article ID: 315278 that computer resources cannot be changed in Windows XP Professional anyway, so it does not apply.

Have you tried messing around with Keyboard settings in the Control Panel?

Ya, tried that. Thought maybe it had something to do with the key repeat rate or speed. Changing settings didnt do anything. Im sure i will eventually figure it out. Its just gonna take time to slowly replace hardware here and there.
